Pick your country, upload any photo, and we crop it to the official size, replace the background, and run a compliance check — then you print it at home.
The check runs in your browser. Your photo is not uploaded, and there is nothing to pay.
We never retouch your face — only crop, resize and background.

Crop, pixel size, head height and background are all measured in your browser against the official numbers for your country.

Passport renewal · Living room selfie to compliant 2 x 2 in on white
Official size, pixel minimums, head height and background colour are loaded from the current requirements — not a guess.
A phone snap against a wall works. Drag the crop box so your head sits inside the guide lines.
Get the official file at the exact pixel size, or a 4×6 sheet ready for any photo kiosk.
Every authority asks for something slightly different. Pick yours in the tool above and all of this is applied automatically.
Taken from current published requirements. We still recommend checking your application page before submitting — requirements do change.

The crop box is pinned to the exact aspect ratio your authority asks for, so you cannot accidentally produce something plausible but wrong.

The background is swapped for the compliant colour with hair preserved, because frizzy edges are the most common reason officials reject AI-made photos.

Head height, eye line and centring are the numbers that decide acceptance. They are calculated live and shown before you pay.

The finished layout drops your photo onto a standard print sheet at 600 DPI, ready for a one-hour print wherever you normally go.
Runs entirely in your browser. We measure the crop, check background colour and flag anything that would get your photo rejected.
Background replaced with the exact compliant colour, cropped to official pixel size, 300 DPI, no our-watermark.
Six copies laid out on a 4×6 inch sheet at 300 DPI — the size every drugstore photo kiosk prints.
We crop to the official size, set the correct background colour and check your source photo has enough resolution before you pay. What we can't guarantee is things outside the image itself — glasses, headwear, expression, shadows, or whether your photo is recent enough. Our compliance check flags those too, so you know before you print.
No, and this is deliberate. Several countries require that a passport photo not alter your appearance. We never retouch skin, reshape features or touch your face in any way. We only crop, resize and replace the background.
Yes, and it's the most common way. Stand about 1.5 m from a plain light wall, face a window so the light is even and there's no shadow behind you, and have someone take it at eye level. Our compliance check will tell you if the resolution or framing isn't enough.
Usually yes. We cut the subject out and drop in the correct flat colour for your country — plain white, off-white or light grey. Hair edges are handled carefully since that's what gets noticed on a document photo.
A few Schengen states read pure white as underexposed, so they ask for light grey instead. If we replace your background we use whatever colour your country actually specifies rather than defaulting to white.
At least the official pixel minimum for your country, rendered at 300 DPI. Print sheets are laid out six to a 4×6 inch sheet, which every drugstore photo counter prints without you having to explain anything.
Yes. Measuring the crop, checking background colour and testing whether your file has enough pixels are pure geometry — they run in your browser and cost us nothing, so they cost you nothing.
The compliance check never uploads your photo at all — nothing leaves your browser. Finished files go to your library until you delete them. We don't train anything on your uploads.
Most passport and visa applications that stall at the photo stage fail for one of four reasons: the crop does not match the official size, the head height falls outside the required range, the background is the wrong colour, or the file is too small to print cleanly. A passport photo maker that only crops solves the first of those. Our compliance check measures all four in your browser and tells you before you spend a credit.
The rules differ more between countries than most people expect. A US passport photo is a 2 by 2 inch square with the head between 50 and 69 percent of frame height. A Schengen visa photo is 35 by 45 mm with stricter head coverage, and several Schengen states reject pure white backgrounds in favour of light grey. A Canadian passport photo must be 50 by 70 mm at a minimum of 1200 by 1800 pixels. Pick your country in the tool and every one of these numbers is applied automatically.
One rule we hold ourselves to regardless of country: we never retouch your face. Many authorities require that a passport photo not alter your appearance in any way — no skin smoothing, no reshaping, no colour correction on the face itself. What we change is everything around it: the crop, the pixel dimensions, the background, and the print layout for your 4 by 6 inch sheet.
Free compliance check, official print sheet, and a face we never touch. That last part is a promise, not a limitation.
